Well the weather has been warm! Hope everyone has been enjoying the lake.

The latest Fishing Report from New Mexico Wildlife Department is from the Officers and Anglers - this is what they have to say:

Ute Lake: The water is clear and the temperature is about 80 degrees. Main lake is clear and river arms are stained. Catfish are good at 4-8 feet with stink bait. White bass are fair (hit and miss) at 30 feet with jigging spoons or trolling slabs or jigs.

Some large-mouth bass are being caught near reeds using Senkos and spinner baits, but the best bite is the small-mouth bass using Senkos in the 10-feet-deep weed beds.

Walleye are slow in the mornings with Senkos from shore and a few reported when trolling in 20 feet of water. No reports on crappie.

 

We carry Stabil treatment for Ethanol in the gas.As you may or may not know the federal government is trying to up the percentage of Ethanol in the Gas. The Marine Industry is fighting this. Common problems that we are seeing is boats vapor locking, rubber gaskets are falling apart - so make sure to treat your gas for the Ethanol. The Stabil brand with Ethanol treatment will also work for winterization - if it ever gets cold enough for it to be winter!  I'll probably regret that statement this winter!

We do Fiberglass repair, replace bunks on trailers, completely re-carpet boats, replace the floor, this is usually done in the winter when you aren't using your boat. We also rebuild engines and lower units as needed.
